Martirio comes ashore at the Teatro de Inca (Inca) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 with a journey between Flamenco and a Tango that smells of the docks and long after-dinner talk.
A winter plan with a coat, some soul, and a stage that knows how to listen.
This is “Al Sur del Tango,” yes, but without a museum or mothballs: Martirio brings her unmistakable voice and that look of someone who has loved copla, jazz, and above all her “husband,” tango.
At 7:00 pm, on the dot, and for €20, the Teatro de Inca turns into a shared pier where Argentina and Spain greet each other from lamppost to lamppost.
In the room, closeness sets the tone: warm lights, expectant silence, and that auditorium murmur that hushes when she lifts an eyebrow.
She’s joined by three who aren’t here for a stroll: Marcelo Mercadante on bandoneon, Olvido Lanza on violin, and Jesús Lavilla on piano.
With them, Martirio unspools from Gardel to Piazzolla without breaking a sweat, passes through Expósito, Discépolo, Eladia Blázquez, Canaro, Contursi, Mores… and plants a round-trip bridge over the Atlantic.
The stage breathes copla entwined with the arrabal, songs with an edge and phrases that caress.
At the Teatro de Inca, veteran craft doesn’t weigh: it floats.
Martirio is the kind who tells the story and leaves the final touch at the end of the verse, like in bars where the clock is always late.
What time is it and how much is it? It starts at 7:00 pm and tickets cost €20.
Where is the concert? At the Teatro de Inca.
What is Martirio’s artistic proposal and who is she coming with? She presents “Al Sur del Tango,” a crossing of tango, copla, and shared roots, together with Marcelo Mercadante (bandoneon), Olvido Lanza (violin), and Jesús Lavilla (piano).
